The Olathe Medical Center Charitable Foundation has a staff of one administrator and a part-time assistant. With the help of many dedicated volunteers, the Foundation is able to raise funds and manage the many generous gifts given in support of the programs and services provided by Olathe Medical Center.

Many gifts are memorial donations in support of Hospice of Olathe Medical Center, a truly deserving and worthwhile charity in our community. Most gifts are unrestricted to “areas of greatest need.” Several donors restrict their gifts to specific areas within the Olathe Health System that are of importance to them, such as Miami County Medical Center, the Kansas Cardiovascular Center, Surgery Department, Nursing Education, Cancer Resource Center, Pediatrics, The Birth Place, etc. Some donors contribute to the Olathe Medical Center Endowment Fund, a long-term investment in the future of Olathe Medical Center. Still others leave a legacy through their wills, estate plans or name Olathe Medical Center as the beneficiary of their insurance policies.

As the entity responsible for managing gifts, the Charitable Foundation prepares proposals and applications for grants on behalf of Olathe Medical Center. The Board of Trustees of the Olathe Medical Center Charitable Foundation guides us in building relationships within our service area for ongoing corporate support. The Foundation annually organizes volunteer committees to host our Golf Classic, Yuletide Gala and Tribute Gardens of Life Memorial Day appeal. The Miami County Medical Center Charitable Advisory Board organizes fund-raisers such as the annual Poinsettia Sale and the recent Rehabilitation Pool campaign.

Several scholarships and awards were established by donors and through fund-raisers to benefit continuing Nursing Education at Olathe Medical Center. Information about all the awards and scholarships offered at OMC is available through Human Resources.
