Activities
BEAM-(Bridging Education and Medicine) is
an ongoing partnership between Olathe Medical Center and the Olathe School
District High Schools. Ongoing activities include the Olathe Medical Center
Career Night, job shadowing, volunteering and Senior Semester Placement. Additional
information can be obtained from high school counselors.
Play
Hospital is an annual event presented to first-graders from the
Olathe, Gardner-Edgerton and Spring Hill school districts during March
and April. This unique program was created to teach children about what
they might experience if they needed hospital care. Important health,
wellness and safety information is also incorporated into the program.
Students play the part of the patient and healthcare team in various "medical
situations" that are presented by a registered nurse.
