Olathe Medical Center's Mammography Department recently
installed "CAD" or Computer Aided Detection. The system allows
a radiologist to compare a computer image and analysis with his/her own.
This dual detection system is shown to increase breast cancer detection
rates by as much as 20%.
Ultrasound
Complementing the Mammography Department is our Ultrasound
Department. The Imaging Center has highly skilled sonographers who work
closely
with
the Mammography Department in handling the expanded role of ultrasound

Testing
Bone
Density Testing (DEXA) is recognized as a vital procedure to
determine bone density. Preventing bone loss is critical to your
future health. DEXA Bone Density Testing has become a routine procedure
to screen
for osteoporosis. The test takes less than 15 minutes and can be
conveniently scheduled to coincide with your visit to us for
a routine annual mammogram
or sonogram.
