Highly Skilled Staff
The Laboratory is staffed with a
team of highly skilled professionals. The Pathologists are physicians
with special training in laboratory science. Medical Technologists have
earned a Bachelor of Science degree and then completed additional training
in a hospital-based medical technologist training program. Phlebotomists
are individuals with extensive training on proper blood drawing technique.
Clerical support personnel are also vital members of the laboratory team.

Center (OMC) Accredited by the College of American Pathologists
Olathe Medical Center Laboratory
Services maintains accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation
of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). OMC Laboratory Services
is one of the more than 6,000 CAP-mentioned laboratories nationwide.
The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is recognized by the federal
government as being equal to or more stringent than the government's
own inspection program. Inspectors examine the records and quality
control of the laboratory for the preceding two years, as well as,
the education and qualifications of the total staff, the adequacy
of the facilities, the equipment, laboratory safety and laboratory
management to determine how well patients are being served. |
